Goes Cube likes to do things a little differently. Instead of a human drummer, we have a robot. Instead of song titles, we just number them. And instead of talking about our really good shows, we like to talk about the ones that were really bad. Well, this show at Snitch was more than bad. We're talking DISASTER.

THE SHOW AT SNITCH 5/21/05

For all you Goes Cube fans that missed the show last night at Snitch, I pity you. You missed the only 15 minutes of reason you'd ever have to justify placing yourself in the lamest bar in Manhattan; with it's horrible set-up, awful sound system, snobby staff and even worse crowd...who, on a whole, seemed to be totally disinterested in the fact that live bands were playing and more interested in just being seen in this "hot-for-the-minute" spot that serves over-priced, weak drinks in plastic cups.

For the 3 songs that they were allowed to play, Goes Cube stayed true to their roots, and their souls, by filling this cheesy LA style "rock" club with what was truly the epitome of hard-core punk attitude. Could a shitty PA system stop them? Could a lack of monitors keep them down? Could the lamest crowd in Manhattan damper their spirits? NO FUCKING WAY!!! Matt and David cranked the volume, moved their gear from the stage to the floor (literally fucking the formalities and just plain taking over) and rocked faces like so few people know how to do anymore. Talk about being punished! People were stunned, jaw-dropped, wide-eyed...and Goes Cube fans were ecstatic!

Matt and David were unmerciful in their pursuit to make the sounds and songs of Goes Cube pierce ears, hearts and eyeballs. What a sight, as David slams apathetic crowd goers with his jerky guitar moves and reckless hopping around. And what a sound as he yells (loud enough to be heard back home in Brooklyn), "FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU!" after finishing what would become their last song of the evening (Goes Cube Song #19). I guess people were so severely punished, they just couldn't take it anymore. The plug was pulled on Goes Cube...AND EVEN THAT DIDN'T STOP THEM! They blasted the beating machine and relentlessly slapped his guitar, drowning out the house music, pissing off employees, kicking peoples' asses and making me smile! WAY TO GO, BOYS!
